Notable Quote #17
Happy MONDAY!
I know, I know some may say this is almost a week late, (I didn’t do a Notable Quotes last week) but I like to think of it as this Notable Quote is a day EARLY!! (The power of positive thinking)
I trust that everyone is having a great Christmas season and that you are looking forward to 2008 with many new perspectives, I know I am! Here are two quotes to think about on this New Year’s Eve 2007.
“No matter what your past has been, you have a spotless future.”
Anonymous
“If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation,
you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude,
a feeling that nurtures the soul.”
Rabbi Harold Kushner
I’m not big on New Year’s Resolutions…so you won’t hear me say, “What are your resolutions for 2008?” What I will say is this…I absolutely can’t wait for tomorrow! I mean who doesn’t want to start a New Year, with New Beginnings?!? Nothing can hold you back! Sure you can make excuses as to why you can’t do this or you can’t to that, but quit with the excuses! NO MATTER WHAT YOUR PAST HAS BEEN, YOU HAVE A SPOTLESS FUTURE! Look at 2008 with a renewed sense of life, don’t let the past drag you down, only you are preventing yourself from a successful year. I am NOT saying forget the past, we must all remember and learn from the past, but we can’t let it dictate our future. I hope that 2008 is a GREAT year for each of you, and I look forward to sharing more Notable Quotes with you throughout the year. One last quote for 2007 as we look toward 2008, it comes from Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,”
plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Now that’s a GREAT quote!
Until Next Time,
Heath

Notable Quote #16
Happy Tuesday!
As you all know Katie and I welcomed Myla Kensington into our lives last Wednesday morning. It was been such a whirlwind of emotions and sleep deprivation, but we wouldn’t change it for the world! As I have been reflecting this week I have thought about what I wanted to post. Many have wondered what I would write about after becoming a father, well…wait no more!
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
Oscar Wilde
“Make your life itself a creative work of art.”
Mike Ray
“You were born an original. Don’t die a copy.”
John Mason
Having a child has been one of the most awesome and terrifying times in my life. I have had thousands of thoughts race through my mind ranging from how am I going to be able to provide for my family; how can I continue to a good husband AND be a good father; what values will we impart on our daughter?
One thing I know for sure is that we want to guide her first and foremost to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That is a decision that she will eventually have to make herself, but we as her parents want to make that as accessible as possible.
The second thing I want to leave her with is the idea to live life to the fullest! I want her to make her life “special”. These notable quotes are meant to provoke and inspire all of us to be the best individuals we can be and to live a life worth living. I want to continue to bestow those thoughts and ideas on Myla. I don’t want her to “die a copy”. I want her to live as an original! She doesn’t have to be rich or famous, but I want her to be successful (a.k.a. HAPPY) with what she has and with what she doesn’t have. If I can help to instill those two values within her, I feel that I would be “successful”!
Until Next Time,
Heath

Notable Quote #15
Good Evening!
“Inspiration does exist, but it must find you working.”
Pablo Picasso
“I couldn’t wait for success, so I went ahead without it.”
Jonathan Winters (comedian/actor)
I think these quotes are GREAT! They somewhat go along with the quotes from last week. The overall theme that I have seen and have been dealing with personally lately is the fact that if you want something, you have to work for it. You can’t just sit around in hopes that it will just happen! Funny things start to happen when you start to work…You actually feel like you can accomplish things, you often feel a sense of closure, and you also feel a sense of purpose. Believe it or not we were not put on this earth to just take up space. We each have a purpose, a unique personalized purpose! I think that’s pretty cool! Successful people (remember success is not just monetary) make things happen. They don’t wait for inspiration or success; they forge ahead, blaze new trails and fail many times before they make it. What’s holding you back? Are you scared? Do you think you are going to fail? Why not learn from your mistakes and face your fears?!?! Make things happen, don’t wait for inspiration and success!!!
Until Next Time,
Heath

Notable Quote #14
Good Morning!
I know that this is a day late and to be honest, I don’t have a very good excuse! Not that it would matter if I did, but I don’t! So now, here are the quotes.
The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it,
but that it is too low and we reach it.
Michelangelo
“No more effort is required to aim high in life, to demand abundance and prosperity,
than is required to accept misery and poverty.”
Napoleon Hill
I was reading through my quotes today and ran across these two. I read them each a couple of times and realized just how true they really are. Many times we ask small children, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” (I still get asked that?!?) We hear a wide array of answers, “Astronauts” “Firefighters” “Police Officers” “Teachers” etc. I wonder what ever happened to those dreams we had as children. I have yet to hear a child say that they want to “live paycheck to paycheck struggling to make ends meet while bustin’ my chops at a dead end job!” That may be a little extreme, but you get the picture. Then as adults we are often times asked to set goals or objectives for ourselves. I wonder how often we set goals lower than we know we can obtain just so we can obtain them. What ever happened to our childhood dreams of great things? Have we been so de-sensitized by society to think that we are destined to be mediocre? With the New Year quickly approaching why don’t we all re-evaluate where we are and where we would like to be…Write these things down and be determined to achieve these goals. Here’s the catch…It will take WORK to achieve these goals!! Don’t make lofty goals and expect it to be easy, we have to work and work hard to achieve them. Those individuals who have achieved great things rarely had them fall in their laps, rather they worked hard to achieve their goals.
Until Next Time,
Heath
